Alpha 4 is out now!


I'm back with a new alpha of Blacktrace. In this version I focused on the looks of the game by adding a bunch of new models and textures. As you can see this really improved the visibility in all the levels. 

Changes :

  • Moved to Godot 3.4.4.
  • Added movement with WASD on the bulletin board.
  • Added a lot of new models and textures.
  • Added balaclava to the player character which can be toggled with B.
  • Made fading objects use dithering instead of transparency for better performance.
  • Removed the throwing rock item.
  • New smoke shader for gun smoke and ambient mist.
  • Added grass asset that moves in the wind.
  • Added a metal stairs asset that can be shot to lower it.
  • Grenade can be cooked and throwing knife can be held back before throwing.
  • AI now continues shooting the player when they are killed to show dismemberment.
  • New intro animation of the player getting out of the car.
  • Added a lot more decorative assets to the levels.
  • A whole lot of fixes.
